Kat Dennings was born on June 13, 1986 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and was named Katherine Victoria Litwack. Ellen Dennings served as her mother as well as a speech therapist while Gerald was the father and a college professor. Dennings was raised by the home of a Jewish family as the eldest child. Dennings did not attend the traditional school system for a long time but was instead homeschooled. Homeschooling made sense because she hoped to become an actress from a very young age. Dennings was able to finish her high school education at the age of 14. At the young age of nine, she was doing commercials. The family moved from the city of Los Angeles after she graduated high school to allow her to take up acting. Kat Dennings, as she was then known was a student at the time, and began to audition. Kat Dennings who been moving to LA to LA in the year 2000, made her debut appearance on an HBO series called "Sex and the City". After that, Dennings starred on the sitcom of WB "Sex and the City".
