Alison Krauss
The beginning of the popular recognition came from bluegrass singer Alison Krauss in 1990 when at age 19, she walked away at the Grammy Awards with the trophy for Best Bluegrass Album. It was an impressive feat that was not just due to the fact that Krauss was young but also because I've Got That Old Feeling was the third release in her catalog. The first album, Too Late to Cry it was released in the year that the Champaign, Illinois, native was 16; she had signed a contract with Rounder Records--one the most prestigious folk music labels that exist in the world--at the age of 14. Her achievements even at a young age, as well as her musical virtuosity has been consistently supported by the fact that she's maintained her devotion to bluegrass, one of the oldest and least appreciated musical genres. Krauss as a teenager phenom, had developed into an accomplished musician as well as a producer.
